Möllevångstorget (Möllan)

Möllan is a square located in the central parts of Malmö. You can find everything from oriental food, pubs and outlets here Möllan is quite famous for its multicultural inspired food. You can taste many exotics meals and Kebab- and Falafel stands are around every corner. The food is very cheap and you can get a meal for only 30 kronor which is approximately a little bit less than 3 Euros. So that’s why Möllan is extremely popular among students and younger people between in the rough 16-24 years who may not have as much money too waste. The food is inspired by the Middle East so the food is quite spice but don’t be afraid to try it!

Another thing which Möllan is famous for are all the pubs around the square. Here they serve all kinds of drinks and food as well but in the pubs the food is not all inspired by the Middle East if you want to taste the food that Möllan gets its reputation from we sincerely recommend to seek for stands and not the pubs. Some of the best and rated pubs are BOB's Bar & Restaurant, Nyhavn and Skolgatans Ölcafe. Here you find Malmö’s cheapest beers and drinks so because of this it’s very crowded by students and younger people. On the weekend there is very huge activity on Möllan, which create a really friendly atmosphere because all the students just want to have fun and blow out some steam.

If you visit Möllan on bright day you will see a big fruit market. Here they sell a lot of exotics fruits which you may not find in your average store. The price is generally good and in the end of the day everyone shouts out new lower prices and it becomes a bidding. Always once a year it’s arranged a festival on the square, it’s often in the late July. They are always famous artist who perform and they arranges a huge second-hand market and the pubs have lower price than usual when the festival is running and the influx of people is huge. The festival is unfortunately only running for 3 days but there is always a good atmosphere.

The quickest way to get to Möllan is by bus. From Malmö Centralstation you can take several buses among bus number 3 and 2. If you are in other parts of Malmö number 6 and 35 are also good alternatives. In Malmö do not the buses take cash, so you have to buy a “jojo-kort” which you can buy and charge with 200 kr. This can you do on the central or in all Pressbyrån shops. If you take the train from Denmark you can take it to Triangeln and then it’s just 5 minutes walk along Bergsgatan and your there!
